There is a saying in the Middle East among the Bedouins. It goes like this, “never allow the camel to get his nose under the tent; the rest of the body will follow.” Now I can sense y’all scratching yer heads and asking, where is the ol’ Colonel going with this one? Very simple. The progressive socialist leftists, Marxists, have never believed in enacting their insidious tyranny immediately. They have always operated under the premise of incrementalism. In other words, they simply and innocuously get their nose under the tent, and then bam… the rest of their body, ideological agenda, follows. Who would have ever thought just ten years ago that we would be faced with biological males competing against women in sporting events? I remember when Dr. Renee Richards sought to compete in tennis as a woman, we thought it all absurd.
I think the leftist model of incrementalism is captured in this quote, “The uncontested absurdities of today are the accepted slogans of tomorrow. They come to be accepted by degrees, by dint of constant pressure on one side and constant retreat on the other — until one day when they are suddenly declared to be the country’s official ideology.” — Ayn Rand
We have consistently watched progressive socialists, leftists, and liberal Republicans incrementally erode our constitutional rights and undermine our Constitutional Republic. It was Barack Hussein Obama who gave us an indication of the rest of the leftist body getting into the tent when he asserted, “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” They had gotten their nose under the tent.
So, here we are now, in our Nation, having debate and arguing about individuals illegally in our Republic being able to vote in our elections. Right now there is legislation seeking to prevent such in Washington DC, a district under the federal government stewardship. Why is this even an issue? Well, you see, we have allowed millions of illegals into our Country and have been guilt-shamed into allowing “dreamers” (children of illegals) to have permanent stay in America. We have watched our 14th Amendment in the Constitution be wrongfully applied to those who have been brought into our Nation illegally. The intent of the 14th Amendment was to provide equal protection under the law and ensure citizenship for those who had been recently freed from slavery…and oh, by the way, the Democrats did not support the 13th Amendment.
Leftist municipalities across America are granting voting rights to those who violated our rule of law to be in our Country. Barack Obama once quipped that voting gives you the right to citizenship, That is wrong, Barry Soetoro.
The Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, has already given her assent to illegals voting in the Empire State. We have allowed the nose of the camel, allowing illegals to vote in local and municipal elections, to get under the tent…now how shall we stop the rest of the body, illegals voting in all elections, from happening? That is the concept of incrementalism that the left uses. They will say, look, what harm have illegals done in voting in local elections? Simple, the harm is that people who have violated our rule of law have broken the law, and they should not have voting rights or privileges.
As well, the leftists are pushing for illegals to be included in the census count, something that is intended for citizens. Their goal is to skew our representative democracy to their favor and create a permanent national majority.
It is time we kick the camel’s nose and get it out of the tent that represents the longest-running Constitutional Republic that the world has ever known. America is the last, best, and greatest hope for mankind. However, if we allow the nasty camel to enter into our tent of individual liberty, rights, and freedoms and move about destroying it…we will only have ourselves to blame. We will be the first generation that does not pass on a better America. We will be the ones who allowed the invasion of our Republic and the violation of our sovereignty.
This is not a fight for the fainthearted or those who seek a position of “moderation.” My Dad taught me that the only thing in the middle of the road is road kill. Also, having been a Soldier, I never wanted anything in my tent other than a fellow Soldier.
It is time to melt down the phone lines and emails of our elected officials, including the President and Vice President, and tell them America is for citizens (born and naturalized), legal immigrants, and tourists. Illegal immigrants have no place here and certainly no right to decide our elected officials at any level of governance.
