Constitutional Rights Organization supports Minnesota law enforcement as they uphold their oath to serve and protect through a formal partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s 287(g) program

Minnesota – American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU) supports Minnesota law enforcement as they continue to honor their oath to protect and to serve the citizens of Minnesota by formally cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through the 287(g) program.

ACRU Executive Director, Lieutenant Colonel Allen B. West (US Army, Retired) and Member of the 112th US Congress states, “We condemn the letter sent by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Miles Lac County Sheriff. It is apparent that State AG Ellison has not read the US Constitution, even after being a Member of Congress. Article VI, Section 2 of the Constitution is known as the Supremacy Clause, and no, not white supremacy, it refers to the supremacy of the federal government over state and local jurisdictions as it is “in pursuance thereof” to the Constitution and the rule of law. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution is known as the Guarantee Clause, and asserts that the federal government must guarantee to every state in the Union protection from invasion, that applies to illegal immigrants, certainly single military age males, foreign terrorists, and criminal gangs. Unauthorized entry into the United States is a federal offense, Title 18 US Code 1325, initial misdemeanor, subsequent federal.”

Lt. Col. West further declares, “Local law enforcement agencies that cooperate with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the 287(g) program are legal, and constitutional. Rogue, unlawful, and unconstitutional Attorney Generals, like Mr. Ellison, are a threat to our constitutional Republic and its sovereignty. As well, Mr. Ellison should know that obstructing a legal, lawful, and constitutional law enforcement operation is a criminal offense. Threatening letters, such as AG Ellison’s, to those enforcing our laws is reflective of a delusional and deranged ideological agenda that undermines law and order, as well as the safety and security of Minnesotans…and Americans.”

ACRU’s Defender Initiative recognizes law enforcement agencies honoring their constitutional oath to protect and to serve by working cooperatively with ICE to identify, process, and detain dangerous immigration offenders per Section 287(g). Learn more at: theacru.org/defenders.
