Hmm, tell that to the 332nd Fighter Squadron, the famed Tuskegee Airmen, an all-black fighter unit. Their fame was not in being black, it was in never losing a bomber during their escort duties. The ‘Red Tails’ were, after all, the most requested unit by bomber units who wanted to come home. Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats will convene a business meeting Thursday to consider their Supreme Court “ethics” bill. But there is no “ethics problem” with the Supreme Court, and certainly not with Justices Thomas and Alito, who have been falsely smeared even though they complied with the relevant disclosure provisions in place at the time.
In an amicus curiae brief, joined by the Alabama Center for Law and Liberty, the ACRU supported the Petitioners in Center for Medical Progress v. National Abortion Federation in their effort to obtain certiorari review in the United States Supreme Court. The district court imposed an injunction that prohibited Petitioners from distributing materials gathered at meetings of the National Abortion Federation. The Petitioners complained that the injunction amounted to an unconstitutional prior restraint on speech.
The head of the NAACP in New York slammed the new ranked-choice voting system as “voter suppression” while calling for an overhaul of the bumbling New York City Board of Elections.
A few hundred people met at a south Anchorage church Thursday night to kick off a signature drive aiming to get rid of ranked choice voting and go back to the way Alaska used to elect candidates.
