In a decisive victory for parental rights, a Loudoun County, VA, judge ended a pattern of genuinely appalling behavior by the Loudoun Country School Board. Enforcing a mask mandate against state Executive Order, the board has been responsible for suspending and shaming students, placing them in solitary confinement, and imposing all manner of strict penalties on students and parents.
In 2020, we saw more lawsuits filed over election laws and rule changes than in any prior year of American history. And with the congressional midterms fast approaching, litigation and other developments just keep coming.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a good idea with his budget proposal to create an “election crimes agency” that would “investigate election crimes and irregularities and make referrals for further legal action directly to a statewide prosecutor.” Florida should implement it, and other states should follow. In fact, state legislators should make sure that a statewide prosecutor’s office has jurisdiction to prosecute all such election cases, especially when local prosecutors fail to act.
Today, Americans of all stripes are constantly bombarded with an insidious propaganda campaign against our shared history. From Critical Race Theory to ripping down historical statues, our national story is being rewritten as irredeemably sinful. These efforts have taken a particularly racialized characteristic by implying that Black history is somehow distinct from, or in opposition to, “American history” itself, rather than an integral part of it.
The Left and their liberal media allies love to point to the low number of election crimes prosecuted as proof that there is little to no voter fraud. They claim these low figures prove we have secure elections and that we do not need election integrity reforms.There is one major problem with this argument. Far too often, county election supervisors refer election crimes to county prosecutors, and these referrals gather dust. Prosecuting election crimes requires resources, time, and expertise of election law that most local county prosecutors do not have. Prosecutors also face political pressure to not prosecute election crime cases.

On the heels of a Virginia Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order Number Two (2022), the Loudoun County School District continues to defy state law by disciplining students choosing to refuse an illegal, school-imposed mask mandate.
It is a shocking statement that could easily be attributed to a third world dictator. When asked about election legislation this week, the president of the United States of America stated, “It’s not who can vote, but who gets to count the vote. Who counts the vote—that’s what this is about.” The definition of a political gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells you what they really think. And what President Biden really thinks is that the Feds should take over elections, stripping states of their election responsibilities as designated by the U.S. Constitution. The Dems want to control who counts the votes.
Far-fetched? If you’ve shaken the dust from a single history book, you know precisely how easily even a modern society will slide down a slippery slope, especially if it’s greased with politician-sprinkled unicorn dust. The most frightening thing about this rash of mandates and “show me your papers” requirements is how it’s setting up a never-ending barrage of similar behavior. President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’s speech in Atlanta today was an insult to all Americans, especially those in the African American community. We were deeply involved in the wars that started and ended the Civil Rights movement in this country. The President and Vice President’s misguided insistence on the ignorant, false claim that America is somehow stuck in the 1960s is disgusting, dangerous, and an affront to all the sacrifices and great successes this country’s brave Civil Rights pioneers made.
