Mr. President, May I Drive the Bulldozer?

In 2002, I became the first (and possibly last) Director of School Choice at the U.S. Department of Education. President George W. Bush had assembled a great team of reformers who sought to empower parents and children through expansion of school choice and a reduction in bureaucratic nonsense. What did I learn in those three and a half years? The agency should be bulldozed. It is a gigantic cesspool of apparatchiks who are sucking up money that should go to the students.

School Choice Is Coming to Union Stronghold West Virginia

On March 18, the West Virginia Senate passed a landmark education bill to create the nation's largest education savings account (ESA) program, which would let parents withdraw their children from public schools and allow them to take the funds that would have been spent by the state and spend them on private school tuition, tutoring, or homeschooling expenses.

Teaching liberty during this oppressive lockdown and beyond

COVID created a nation of homeschooling parents. We fully understand that for many families, this has been difficult. It also presents new opportunities for parents to teach kids lessons in civics and actual history, as opposed to teachers unions’ slanted and revised history.
