On Sept. 20, we reported on an outrageous subpoena served by the U.S. Justice Department on the Eagle Forum of Alabama. Fortunately, in the face of vigorous opposition expressed in amicus briefs filed by literally dozens of conservative organizations supporting the Eagle Forum’s motion to quash (i.e., throw out) the subpoena, Justice Department lawyers caved and narrowed their request—as the judge in the case put it—to “1%” of what they were demanding before.
The Tennessee Legislature has passed legislation that would require all absentee ballots to contain a watermark for added security.
America is a country of over 300 million people. We are comprised of every shape, size, nationality, and opinion. This diversity has proven to be one of our greatest strengths. However, if you listened to largely white liberal media personalities and elite CEOs, you wouldn’t know this. According to liberal orthodoxy, all Blacks think alike, and all Blacks support Black Lives Matter, and all Blacks oppose the recently enacted Georgia Election Integrity Act.
Democratic leaders no longer even try to hide their real objectives. All of the bills introduced by Democratic lawmakers of late have been undisguised power grabs.
One clear message coming out of a Thursday news conference with congressional Democrats is that their court-packing plan is really about the future of how elections are conducted in the United States.
Kudos to North Dakota legislators for pushing a bill that that will restrict state bureaucrats from blocking worship and religious practices during a state of emergency while ensuring that participation in faith activities is not treated with punitive bias. In theory, Constitutional rights should not need “extra” state protections, but we have learned that they do. Other states should follow suit.
The state’s Republican congressional delegation, led by Rep. Joe Wilson, recently held a press conference at the South Carolina State House (not Washington, DC) to express their disgust at reports of vote fraud. The Members called for all illegal ballots to be weeded out and discarded, and announced they are working on federal legislation requiring voter ID, vote fraud hotlines and a national program to cross-reference state voter rolls.
The Center for Tech and Civic Life is a leftist group claiming to use technology to “modernize” voting. Funded by liberal companies and run by self-identified progressive and Obama-affiliated staff, it is insinuating itself into elections. CTCL just gave Dallas County election administrator Toni Pippins-Poole $15 million for “voting operations” after Gov. Abbott wisely halted the liberal push for unsolicited mail-only ballots. Coincidentally, Ms. Pippins-Poole is also a CTCL advisor.
Elections officials in Virginia are trying to set the record straight, after absentee ballot applications with incorrect information were mailed to more than half a million residents in the Commonwealth. The confusing mailers were sent by an organization known as 'The Center For Voter Information', which identifies itself as "non-partisan and non-profit" on its website.
